Team Moore Racing will be back on the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires grid from the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis weekend May 7-9, the team announced Wednesday.
Mexican driver Alfonso “Picho” Toledano will be in the No. 2 Casa Don Ramón Dallara IL15-Mazda.
“I’m really happy to finally close a deal to race in the Indy Lights program,” Toledano said in a release. “Many years ago I dreamed of it and wanted to be in the series after a personal experience with the IndyCar Medical staff. They saved my life after a huge racing accident. Coming to Indianapolis feels like home and like my biggest achievement in life where I plan to continue and consolidate my racing career.”
The Indy Lights field will drop to 12 this weekend at Long Beach, but will increase with this entry and if 8Star Motorsports returns for further events with Canadian talent Scott Hargrove.
