Wehrlein and Yelloly to test for Force India next week

MONTMELO – Force India has announced that Pascal Wehrlein and Nick Yelloly will take part in next week’s in-season Formula 1 test in Barcelona.

Following this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, the teams will remain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for a two-day test on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wehrlein works as the reserve driver for Mercedes AMG Petronas, but tested for Force India in pre-season. He will get a chance to get behind the wheel of the new VJM08 car for the first time on Tuesday.

Yelloly had been due to race for Jota Sport in the European Le Mans Series in 2015, but cut ties with the team before the start of the season. He has been completing some work in the simulator for Force India so far this year, and also took part in this weekend’s GP2 round in Barcelona.

The team confirmed its line-up for the test on Twitter, which does not feature either of its full-time race drivers.

Next week’s test in Barcelona is the first of two during the 2015 season, with the second being held at the Red Bull Ring following the Austrian Grand Prix in June. Teams are required to test young drivers on two of the four days of in-season running this year.
