INDIANAPOLIS – Houston, we have dates for the 2016 Month of May.
At a press conference this morning at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IMS officials have unveiled the logo and date for the 100th Indianapolis 500.
The race will run May 29, 2016.
“Each year we design a new logo for the Indianapolis 500, but this year’s effort has been given special consideration,” Mark Miles, CEO of Hulman & Co, said, via indianapolismotorspeedway.com. “The logo for the 100th Indianapolis 500 recognizes both our illustrious past and an even brighter future.”
Earlier this week, it was also announced that the third Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis will run on Saturday, May 14.
This means the schedule will mirror this year’s, with the Grand Prix on the Saturday, qualifying the following weekend and the ‘500 on May 29.
More to follow after a transcript of a group session with Miles, Speedway president J. Douglas Boles, Allison Melangton and A.J. Foyt took place this morning.
