WATCH LIVE: Firestone 600 at Texas at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, Live Extra

The second half of the Verizon IndyCar Series season begins tonight, with IndyCar’s first night race of the season at Texas Motor Speedway. Coverage begins live at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra, the latter via for participating cable providers. The green flag should be 30 to 40 minutes after the coverage starts.

The 600 kilometer Firestone 600 is also the only race for the series on a 1.5-mile oval all year.

Will Power has his third straight Texas pole position and leads a Penske 1-2-3-5 on the grid, interrupted only by Detroit race one winner Carlos Munoz in fourth on the grid.

Brian Till, Townsend Bell and Paul Tracy will call the race, with Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast, Kevin Lee and Robin Miller on pit lane.

Again, that’s 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra for coverage of the Firestone 600 from TMS. My colleague Daniel McFadin is on site at TMS and has the majority of the coverage on MotorSportsTalk.
