Red Bull has confirmed that junior driver Pierre Gasly will get another chance to sample the RB11 car at next week’s in-season test in Austria.
Gasly was in the running for a seat with Toro Rosso in F1 for the 2015 season before ultimately losing out to Formula Renault 3.5 champion Carlos Sainz Jr.
The 19-year-old moved over from FR3.5 to GP2 for 2015, where he has claimed one podium finish so far this season with defending champions DAMS.
At the first in-season test following the Spanish Grand Prix in May, Gasly pulled a double-shift by testing for both Red Bull and Toro Rosso.
He will now get another chance to test the RB11 car in Austria next week, sharing driving duties with full-time Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo.
Ricciardo will get behind the wheel for the first day of testing next Tuesday before handing the reins over to Gasly for Wednesday.
Teams are required to allocate two of their four in-season test days to young drivers. By running Gasly in both Spain and Austria, Red Bull has met this requirement, and it could be that Toro Rosso opts to also run Gasly again to do the same.
Ferrari confirmed earlier this week that GP3 driver Antonio Fuoco would be getting his first F1 test in Austria, running alongside Esteban Gutierrez.
