GP3 Series driver Alex Fontana will race for the Trulli Formula E Team at this weekend’s London ePrix, stepping in for Vitantonio Liuzzi.
Liuzzi made his final Formula E appearance three weeks ago in Moscow before confirming that he would not be racing in London due to a clash with another championship.
As a result, Jarno Trulli will now race alongside Fontana for his eponymous team in London, with the Swiss racer being confirmed on Thursday.
Fontana currently races in the GP3 Series for Status Grand Prix, having previously worked as a junior driver at Lotus F1 Team and enjoying tests in both Formula 1 and DTM.
With this announcement, the grid for the final two races of the inaugural Formula E season is set, boasting five rookies out of 20 drivers.
IndyCar driver Simona de Silvestro will make her debut in the series with Andretti this weekend, carrying over her TE Connectivity livery for the team’s cars in London.
McLaren test driver Oliver Turvey has joined NEXTEV TCR for the weekend, racing alongside series leader Nelson Piquet Jr, whilst Sakon Yamamoto (Amlin Aguri) and Fabio Leimer (Virgin Racing) also get their first starts.
