Luca Filippi felt elated following his first IndyCar oval test with CFH Racing at Iowa Speedway this week, saying that it was “like a roller coaster x 10”.
Filippi made his IndyCar debut during 2013 and has appeared in a number of street and road course races, claiming his best finish at the Honda Indy Toronto last month when he finished second.
However, the Italian is now looking to add some oval experience to his repertoire, taking part in his first test at Iowa in the no. 20 CFH Racing car this week.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Filippi thanked team owners Sarah Fisher and Ed Carpenter for giving him the opportunity and expressed his respect for oval racers.
Filippi was joined in Iowa by Matthew Brabham, who got behind the wheel of the no. 27 Andretti Autosport car.
