The family of Jules Bianchi has confirmed that his funeral will be held on Tuesday in Nice, France, following his death at the age of 25.
Bianchi succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident at last October’s Japanese Grand Prix on Friday night after spending the last nine months in a coma.
His passing sent shockwaves throughout the motorsport world and left the Formula 1 community in mourning as tributes poured in from all over the world.
A report from Agence France-Presse on Sunday stated that Bianchi’s funeral would be held on Tuesday in his home city of Nice, France.
This was confirmed by the Bianchi family in two tweets – one in English, one in French – sent from Jules’ Twitter account on Sunday afternoon.
“You can say goodbye to Jules [on] Tuesday 21 July at 10 am at the Sainte Réparate Cathedral @VilledeNice #CiaoJules,” the English tweet reads.
