INDYCAR rescinds minor penalty against Jakes issued at Iowa

In a minor adjustment to a minor penalty, INDYCAR announced Monday it was rescinding a penalty issued to James Jakes, driver of the No. 7 Mediatech Advertising Honda for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.

Jakes was originally docked $500 fine for violating Rule of the Verizon IndyCar Series rulebook (Personal Safety Equipment, visor up during pit stop fueling), but after further review of the incident, it was determined the violation did not occur.

Jakes finished 15th in Iowa two weeks ago.
