LEXINGTON, Ohio – Defending Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course race winner Scott Dixon led the field in second practice for the Honda Indy 200, uncorking a 1:05.9645 at the end of the 75-minute session.
Dixon, in his usual No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet, enters 48 points back of Juan Pablo Montoya and has five wins in the last eight years at Mid-Ohio.
Sebastien Bourdais and Will Power also had stints at the top of the timesheets near the end of the session and ended second and third.
Meanwhile behind the trio of Chevrolets, Columbus’ Graham Rahal posted the fourth fastest time and best for Honda at 1:06.1049, and Takuma Sato completed the top five at 1:06.1361.
Of note, Luca Filippi had a pair of spins, Rodolfo Gonzalez spun once and Tristan Vautier ran wide off Turn 1 and did his best Red Bull Global Rallycross audition as he caught air.
