Rayhall wins; Harvey, Jones tangle in chaotic second Indy Lights race at Mid-Ohio

LEXINGTON, Ohio – Sean Rayhall took a well judged second victory of the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires season Sunday morning at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, making his return to the series with 8Star Motorsports (Indianapolis GP race two).

Rayhall took the lead, however, following a dramatic twist in both the race and the Indy Lights title chase.

Contact between Jack Harvey and Ed Jones, with Jones leading Harvey on the run into Turn 4, sent them both off course on Lap 21.

Jones was later issued a drive through penalty for avoidable contact; Harvey, with a damaged front wing, fell back even later in the race.

The move occurred following Harvey’s earlier passing attempt on Lap 11, and he needed to lock up to avoid hitting him earlier.
