Massa leads wet Russian Grand Prix second practice

Only eight drivers took time during the second free practice session at the Russian Grand Prix, which saw Felipe Massa at the top of the timesheets at 2:00.458 for Williams.

It was a completely wet session with minimal running throughout the 90-minute session, as standing water was present throughout the Sochi Autodrom.

The remaining runners who took times were Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, Daniil Kvyat, Carlos Sainz Jr. and Jenson Button.

All told, with Friday morning’s first free practice also in tricky conditions, it was an essentially lost day of running for the teams.

FP3 is tomorrow morning at 5 a.m. ET before qualifying at 8 a.m. ET, the latter on NBCSN and both on NBC Sports Live Extra.
