Sauber reserve driver Raffaele Marciello will get another run-out in the team’s C34 car during practice for the United States Grand Prix next weekend, deputizing for Felipe Nasr.
Marciello joined Sauber in the reserve role at the beginning of the season thanks to the Swiss team’s relationship with Ferrari, whose driver academy the Italian is a leading member of.
Following practice appearances in Malaysia, Spain and Great Britain, Marciello will get another chance to prove himself in front of the Formula 1 paddock at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas next Friday.
Besides his reserve driver commitments, Marciello has also been racing in GP2 this year with Trident, claiming three podium finishes to currently sit eighth in the championship standings.
Nasr will step aside to allow Marciello take part in FP1 before returning to his C34 car for the remainder of the weekend in Austin.
