It’s been a rough last two weeks weather-wise for central Texas, including Austin and the Circuit of the Americas.
Not only was last weekend’s Formula 1 race at COTA impacted by heavy rainfall, the track is now trying to recover from another deluge that included significant flooding both of the facility as well as the surrounding area.
NBC’s Leigh Diffey retweeted photos of COTA from a friend.

Hey, guys. We're in the process of recovering from last week's flooding and tornado. A lot of work to be done, as you can probably imagine.

We really appreciate everyone's concern, and we'll share more about last week soon. Hopefully back to Twitter business as usual tomorrow.

Sadly, one of COTA’s workers, 37-year-old Edward Hernandez, was one of at least three people killed Saturday in the Austin area when he and his brothers were caught up in a flash flood as they left work at the track after learning that their home was flooded.
According to KUVE.com, Hernandez’ body was found in an area adjacent to the track after the car he and his brothers were in “was swept away by rushing water, and they got out of the car as it flipped into the flooded creek. Hernandez did not show up after that.”
