Following the initial publication of the provisional calendar for the 2016 MotoGP season in September, the series has this week released an updated schedule with a few minor date tweaks.

The original calendar was notable for the omission of the Indianapolis Grand Prix after officials at IMS and Dorna, MotoGP’s promoter, agreed to a termination of their contract.

This leaves the Grand Prix of America at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas as the only U.S. round on the MotoGP schedule.

Indy’s loss proved to be Austria’s gain, though, after the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg joined the calendar.

Here’s a run-down of the changes on the revised calendar and the schedule in full.

  • The German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring moves back one week from July 10 to July 17, taking the slot of the British Grand Prix.
  • This has been made possible by the British Grand Prix’s switch back to its traditional end of summer slot, now being held on September 4.
  • The Malaysian Grand Prix moves from being the first of the traditional Malaysia-Japan-Australia triple-header to being the last, taking place on October 30.
  • The final round in Valencia has been pushed back a week, creating a two-week gap between the penultimate race and the title decider.
