Williams reserve driver Alex Lynn has joined the line-up for the end of season FIA World Endurance Championship rookie test in Bahrain later this month.

Lynn joined Williams after winning the GP3 title in 2014, and has balanced his commitments with the British Formula 1 team with a race role in GP2 with DAMS.

However, the Briton will now try his hand at a endurance car after being named as one of Toyota’s drivers for the upcoming test at the Bahrain International Circuit on November 22.

Lynn will share driving duties in the TS040 hybrid with LMP2 and Formula E racer Sam Bird, while regular Toyota driver Mike Conway will complete installation laps in the car and be on hand to provide support throughout the test day.

New Zealanders Richie Stanaway and Mitch Evans will also get their first taste of an LMP1 car during the test, having been selected by the WEC promoter to complete running for Audi and Porsche respectively.

Evans will be joined in the Porsche 919 Hybrid by IndyCar’s Juan Pablo Montoya, who confirmed last month that he would be testing for the German marque in Bahrain.

A number of rookie drivers will get a chance to test for teams in LMP2, GTE Pro and GTE Am, with the full entry list being published by WEC officials on Friday.

Formula Renault 3.5 driver Tio Ellinas will test for Strakka Racing in LMP2, while Aston Martin Racing has confirmed that it will give six of its academy members a run-out in Bahrain.

Here is the complete Bahrain test line-up as per the WEC.
