The four men responsible for the trophy raid at Red Bull Racing’s factory in December 2014 have been jailed.
Danny Stevens, Paul Smith, Jason Eastwood and Luke Cole stole over 60 trophies from Red Bull’s base in Milton Keynes, England last year by ramming a vehicle through its entrance.
Around 20 of the trophies were recovered from a nearby lake in the week following the incident, but it was not until May that the men were arrested for the robbery.
At Guildford Crown Court in England on Friday, the quartet pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to steal relating to the Red Bull robbery and a number of other incidents in the local region.
The trophies taken from Red Bull were estimated to be worth around $850,000, contributing to over $1.5 million’s worth of stolen goods that the gang had illegally seized, as well as taking $450,000 from cash machines using similar ram-raid tactics.
Stevens and Smith were sentenced to eight and six years in prison respectively. Eastwood received a three years and four month-sentence, while Cole will spend two years behind bars.
