Argentine driver Nicolas Dapero joins the previously announced Will Owen as part of Juncos Racing’s Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires lineup for next season.
Dapero has had several tests with Juncos this year, beginning as early as at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in June, and as recently as last week at NOLA Motorsports Park.
“I am very happy to join Juncos Racing,” said Dapero. “Throughout the year of testing I realized that they are an amazing team. I love the way they work and I feel comfortable with all team members. I am looking forward to starting the season and I am sure next year will be amazing!”
Dapero has past experience in karting series in Argentina, including the ROTAX of Buenos Aires, the Florida Winter Tour, and the ROTAX Euro Challenge in 2012, and then scoring two wins and six podiums a year later in the ROTAX MAX Challenge in Buenos Aires.
In 2014 he won the ROTAX Argentina Championship with three wins, four poles, and eight podiums. The young Argentinian moved into the Formula Metropolitana series in 2014 earning three podiums and one pole position.
He hails from the same country as Juncos Racing team principal Ricardo Juncos.
