From the “this makes sense in nearly every angle” department, Ryan Hunter-Reay will join Visit Florida Racing for four IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship rounds next season.

Hunter-Reay rounds out the lineup in the No. 90 Corvette DP alongside the team’s new recruits, Ryan Dalziel and Marc Goossens, for three of the four Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup rounds at Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans.

Meanwhile, with Dalziel unavailable at Long Beach due to being at Silverstone for the FIA World Endurance Championship season opening weekend, Hunter-Reay will pull double duty there and race in both the IMSA and Verizon IndyCar Series races.

“This is an incredible opportunity to join Visit Florida Racing at the top of their game with such an outstanding driver lineup in Marc (Goossens) and Ryan (Dalziel),” said Hunter-Reay.

“I believe we have a strong shot at winning the big endurance races and I’m also looking forward to the double duty challenge at Long Beach, which is one my favorite race tracks.”

Interestingly, all have worked together before at the Team SRT operation before, with the GTE-specification Dodge Viper GTS-R. Hunter-Reay and Dalziel were endurance drivers, with Goossens a full-season ace.
