Jacques Villeneuve will miss the third round of the FIA Formula E season in Punta del Este, Uruguay on Saturday due to crash damage sustained during qualifying.
Villeneuve crashed out during the final heat of qualifying at the penultimate, causing damage to his Venturi that left the team with a rapid repair job to complete ahead of the race.
Villeneuve had been due to start 18th in Punta del Este after failing to set a time in qualifying, but will not start the race due to the damage sustained in the shunt. Venturi did confirm that Villeneuve was unharmed in the accident.

Former CART and F1 champion Villeneuve confirmed back in August he would be entering Formula E from the second season, but has struggled to make much of an impact thus far, finishing 14th in Beijing and 11th in Putrajaya.
Jerome d’Ambrosio will start the race in Uruguay from pole position after topping the timesheets in qualifying earlier today, heading up an all-Dragon front row.
