The manager of former Formula One champion Michael Schumacher, Sabine Kehm, issued a denial of that Schumacher had the ability to walk again.

The claim was made by German magazine Bunte.

“Unfortunately, we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true,” Kehm said in a statement.

“Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people.”

It has been two years since Schumacher, a seven-time World Champion, suffered severe head injuries while skiing in France. The German native was put into a medically induced coma, which he woke up from in June 2014.

He has been undergoing recovery and rehabilitation away from the public eye ever since.
