Don Schumacher Racing announced Wednesday it has extended its sponsorship deal with NAPA Auto Parts in a multi-year deal to sponsor the Funny Car driven by Ron Capps.

NAPA has been a sponsor of DSR and Capps since the 2008 season.

“It shows the talent of all the people I’ve worked with at DSR over the years with support from our partners like NAPA,” Capps said in a team release. “I’m so fortunate to have been able to travel around the country for NAPA and meet thousands of members of the NAPA family. They’re the greatest fans in racing.”

Capps, who has 44 career Funny Car wins, finished the 2015 Mello Yello NHRA season fourth in the Funny Car standings, his best result since a runner-up finish in 2012, the year he began working with crew chief Rahn Tobler.

In 2015, Capps recorded two wins, at Gainesville and Houston. His 44 wins put him second on the all-time Funny Car wins list, a distant second behind John Force.
