Arthur Pic will return to the GP2 Series for a third year in 2016 with Rapax.
Pic, younger brother of ex-Formula 1 driver Charles, made his GP2 debut back in 2014 after spending three years in Formula Renault 3.5.
The Frenchman finished seventh in 2014 with Campos, but struggled in his second year with the Spanish team and scored less than half as many points en route to P11 in the drivers’ standings.
On Thursday, Pic confirmed that he would be moving to Italian team Rapax for the 2016 season and is hoping to be in contention for the championship.
“I’m delighted to be joining Rapax for my third campaign in GP2 Series,” Pic said. “I wanted to be part of a front-running team that can challenge for the title, and Rapax has shown over the years they have the pedigree to deliver very strong results.
“They were especially competitive and consistent last year and I look forward to building on this to enjoy even more success in 2016. The decision to join Rapax was also made easier when I visited the team and could witness at first hand the great family spirit and atmosphere there was at the factory.
“With several race winners returning to the series, this year is shaping up to be another hotly contested affair but I am sure we have what it takes to achieve our goals and we’ll work hard all together to make it happen.”
