Renault has finalized, formalized and revealed some of the key official details at its launch event on Wednesday morning in Paris.
The team will now be known as Renault Sport Formula One Team, following the team’s takeover of Lotus but still residing in Enstone.
Additionally, as expected, Kevin Magnussen has been confirmed to replace Pastor Maldonado in the team’s new Renault RS16 chassis. Rookie Jolyon Palmer joins him in the second car, and thus the team has one of the least experienced lineups on the grid, albeit one still overflowing with potential.
Esteban Ocon was announced as reserve driver and Carmen Jorda was still present at the announcement as test and development driver.
The interim livery was revealed too, featuring mostly black with hints of yellow. This may not be the final version.
