Development driver Alfonso Celis Jr. will get the first run in Force India’s new 2016 Formula 1 car when pre-season testing kicks off in Barcelona next week.

Celis joined Force India in a development role last November before enjoying his first test in an F1 car in Abu Dhabi following the final race of the 2015 season.

The Mexican youngster will now debut the new Force India VJM09 car at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, topping and tailing the team’s running in the first pre-season test.

Race drivers Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg will take days two and three of the first test respectively before both receiving two days of running at the second test.
