Matthew Brabham will head to Australia for the Clipsal 500 weekend in Adelaide, South Australia, to race in the Stadium Super Trucks. Conceived by Robby Gordon, these trucks reach nearly 150 mph and soar 16 feet in the air on the specially designed course.

This is the second year the series will run as part of the V8 Supercar weekend schedule.

Brabham’s fifth Super Truck start will come with Bill Hynes, who called him, “one of the best young talents in the world right now,” in a team press release.

His most recent start in the series came last October at Valvoline Speedway in Sydney, New South Wales Australia where he finished second to Sheldon Creed and just in front of this year’s car owner Hynes.

Brabham is not only in Australia to generate some excitement for the 100th running of the Indy 500.

“While the Stadium Super Truck is completely different to an IndyCar, it will probably the last chance I have to be in Australia before things get a bit crazy back in the States,” Brabham said, “so it will be a great opportunity to give back to the Aussie fans before we start our Indy quest.”

Brabham will be making his inaugural attempt to make the 500 in the No. 61 PIRTEK Team Murray Chevrolet. He is a third generation driver, following in the footsteps of legendary grandfather Jack and father Geoff.
