The latest episode of the NBC Sports Group original digital series Paddock Pass is up, following the third day of the second test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The hot topic, inevitably and invariably, was the debut of Scuderia Ferrari’s ‘halo’ device, which Kimi Raikkonen rolled out with in the morning and said made little difference to his viewing.

In the first part of today’s show, NBCSN F1 pit reporter and insider Will Buxton caught up with Racecar Engineering deputy editor Sam Collins about what the device could look like, although it’s clearly early days yet for the prototype.

He also catches up with Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen and Sahara Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg, both of whom were busy today in running.

“Personally, I’m not a big fan of it,” Hulkenberg told Buxton. “Safety and security standards in F1 are pretty high. Personally I don’t like the optics on it.”

In part two, Buxton talks Pirelli tire allocations and regulations with Anthony Peacock of Pirelli’s motorsports media department, then wraps up the day with French journalist Julien Febreau of CANAL+.
