A number of Verizon IndyCar Series drivers are making the rounds in national media appearances this week. Among them is four-time and defending series champion Scott Dixon, who was on NBC’s TODAY Show this morning in the fourth hour with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, who was filling in for Kathie Lee Gifford.

Dixon was part of a four-man “Guys Tell All” panel; racing wasn’t a topic but marriage and relationships was.

Dixon only spoke twice but tried to get off as good of one-liners as possible.

In response to an audience member’s question, “What’s the best characteristic you look for in a woman?” Dixon brought a more natural answer after another panelist said he’d look for a woman with a bunch of cats.

“It’s always a tough one. They’ve gotta be nice, gotta be kind obviously… the cat thing is not a bad thing,” Dixon said.

A second question followed, when asking what’s the right amount of time to spend before proposing.

“It’s whatever makes the situation feel right. I was eight, maybe nine months... but I knew I had the right woman,” said Dixon, who’s married to the lovely Emma Dixon and has two daughters, Poppy and Tilly.
