ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill will start Sunday’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg from the two-seat IndyCar, Honda’s Fastest Seat in Sports, behind racing legend Mario Andretti.
Tannehill is always under center to begin with in his day job, and this will see him behind arguably the best center positioned driver of all-time.
This will mark Tannehill and wife Lauren’s first IndyCar appearance. They’re guests of Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay and wife Beccy. Both couples live in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Tannehill joins Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ star defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, a four-time Pro Bowler, on site in St. Petersburg from the NFL. McCoy is the race’s Grand Marshal and additionally, for another year, the Buccaneers’ cheerleaders will be at the race.
