Multi-platinum award winning rock band Better Than Ezra will perform a free concert prior to the April 2 Phoenix Grand Prix Verizon IndyCar Series race.

Phoenix International Raceway officials made the announcement Wednesday. The band will perform on the PIR Main Stage at 4:15 p.m. PST, about three hours before the green flag drops on the race.

Since forming in 1988, the New Orleans-based band has released eight studio albums, most recently 2014’s “All Together Now,” which featured the top single, “Crazy Lucky.”

The band is best known for its 1993 platinum “Deluxe” and the 1995 single “Good.”

Their song “Juicy” was on the TV show “Desperate Housewives,” and Taylor Swift covered another hit, “Breathless.”

The group also established the Better Than Ezra Foundation, which has raised over $1.5 million for causes around New Orleans, as well to support the renewal of structural and cultural heritage as well as education in New Orleans and South Louisiana.
