Force India has confirmed that reserve driver Alfonso Celis Jr. will make his Formula 1 practice debut in Bahrain next weekend.
Formula Renault 3.5 and GP3 driver Celis joined Force India at the end of last season in a reserve role that sees him work under full-time racers Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez.
Celis enjoyed running in the end-of-season test in Abu Dhabi last winter, and also had two days in the new VJM09 car in Barcelona earlier this year.
On Friday, Force India confirmed on Twitter that Celis would be replacing Perez for first practice in Bahrain on April 1.
The Bahrain Grand Prix weekend is live on NBCSN from April 1-3.
