Marco Andretti and Andretti Autosport will once again have a familiar partner on their Verizon IndyCar Series rides in 2016.
Pennsylvania-based United Fiber & Data has confirmed the races it will return as a sponsor for parts of the 2016 season, it was announced Tuesday. It was announced earlier this year the team would have UFD back after a one-year hiatus.
Andretti’s No. 27 Honda will be co-sponsored by United Fiber & Data and carry sidepod branding for upcoming IndyCar races at Phoenix (this weekend), Long Beach, Pocono and the inaugural Labor Day weekend race in Boston.
In addition, United Fiber & Data will return as an associate sponsor for the remainder of the season on the No. 28 DHL Honda of Ryan Hunter-Reay.
“We’re really pleased to see United Fiber and Data continue to grow as they return to Indy car racing,” team owner Michael Andretti said in a media release. “While the UFD colors were not on the cars in 2015, we’ve remained close friends with a solid partnership. … (I) look forward to seeing the No. 27 United Fiber & Data/Snapple car on-track in Phoenix.”
United Fiber & Data served as a major associate sponsor for Andretti Autosport in 2013 and 2014 and was a full primary sponsor for Marco Andretti’s No. 27 in 2014.
