IndyCar flashback: Dixon scores elusive Long Beach win (VIDEO)

Last year, Scott Dixon got the monkey off his back in finally scoring his first win on the streets of Long Beach, Calif.

It had been a traditional bogey track for the then-three and now four-time and defending Verizon IndyCar Series champion, who in eight prior starts only had one top-10 finish (fourth in 2010).

But after leapfrogging Team Penske teammates Helio Castroneves and Juan Pablo Montoya, who started on the front row, Dixon surged ahead to score his first win of the 2015 season – the first of three that would propel him to the title.

Relive last year’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach above, with the NBCSN broadcast that featured Brian Till, Townsend Bell and Paul Tracy. Marty Snider, Kevin Lee, Kelli Stavast and Robin Miller patrolled the pit lane.

Dixon heads into Long Beach this week on the heels of his win at Phoenix two weeks ago.
