Music-themed Coca-Cola car set for Dixon at Barber

Coca-Cola will make an encore appearance on the usual No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet of Scott Dixon for this weekend’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, with a music-themed livery.

The last couple years its “Share a Coke” campaign has focused on putting names on packaging but now shifts to music with lyrics from 70 approved songs.

Between a mock turntable, a volume dial, earbuds and “flowing bands,” there’s plenty of music to go around.

Dixon will be hoping to sing a better tune this week at Barber Motorsports Park than one he was stuck with last Sunday in Long Beach, when eventual race winner Simon Pagenaud was issued only an Official Warning from Race Control when he rejoined the race following his final pit stop.
