PARIS - Simona de Silvestro is hopeful of adding to her breakthrough Formula E points in Long Beach at this weekend’s Paris ePrix after getting to grips with the car.

De Silvestro made her debut with Andretti at last year’s London finale, but only picked up her first points in Long Beach as her prior knowledge from IndyCar took her to ninth place.

“Finally! It feels good,” de Silvestro told NBC Sports. “Wish the safety car wouldn’t have come out because I think that would have helped us a little bit, but finally.

“We were waiting for them for so long. It was a pretty good race, we were right there with the people around. Hopefully we can carry that on throughout the rest of the season.”

De Silvestro said that she has felt more comfortable in the car since the Mexico City ePrix, giving her the chance to deliver on the pace that Andretti has shown at points throughout the year.

“From Mexico, it seemed like… I think I’ve adjusted myself and finally understood how I have to drive the car and I think that was the biggest point,” de Silvestro said.

“Now I feel more comfortable in the car. It’s showing in the pace. That’s really rewarding. Still a lot of work to do but definitely it’s a big step forward.”

“Robin has been showing that it can be done so I think for the team we want to be both in the points. That’s really the main goal right now.”

Looking ahead to season three, de Silvestro said she is hopeful of remaining in Formula E but could make no firm assertions about her future.

“Yeah I’d love to [continue],” she said. “Right now I can’t really say anything if it’s going to happen, but it’s been a great series to be part of. It’s definitely growing. The venues are incredible.

“I’m really enjoying myself so I’d love to continue for sure.”
