Red Bull Racing is set to premiere its canopy concept, which has thus far appeared in renderings but not in actuality, during first free practice for the Russian Grand Prix.
Both Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat have trialled the concept on the team’s simulator; it remains to be seen whether one or both of them will run an installation lap on Friday.
Dubbed the “Aero Screen,” Red Bull’s concept differs from the “Halo” we’ve seen thus far because there’s actually a windscreen inside the aero design, and no central pillar but instead two side pillars. Ferrari tested the “Halo” during preseason testing in Spain.
