Tim Hortons and the Honda Indy is a match made in coffee heaven

Burger King In Talks To Acquire Canadian Chain Tim Horton's

NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 25: A sign hangs on a Tim Horton’s cafe in Manhattan on August 25, 2014 in New York City. It has been confirmed that American fast food giant Burger King is in discussions for a possible take-over of Canadian coffee and cafe chain Tim Horton’s. Shares of Tim Hortons Inc and U.S. Burger King Worldwide Inc rose after news of the merger talk. The new company would be based in Canada which has a lower corporate tax rate than the United States. It makes too much sense, right? Tim Hortons as an official sponsor of Toronto’s venerable Verizon IndyCar Series race, the Honda Indy, which celebrates its 30-year anniversary this year?

Indeed the coffee that probably gets more play by Americans than Canadians, but is still huge in Canada, has become an official partner this year.

The full release from the event, which runs July 15-17, is below:

Tim Hortons will roll up to the Honda Indy Toronto this year to fuel the event with its iconic coffee. Organizers of the event announced today that Canada’s largest quick service restaurant chain will join the Honda Indy Toronto as an official sponsor.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Tim Hortons will serve as the official coffee and baked goods provider at the Honda Indy Toronto this summer, having a presence onsite with a Tims Coffee Truck to deliver Canada’s Favourite Coffee to event-goers and team personnel, along with branding throughout the event site and along the historic street course.

“Tim Hortons is a big part of Toronto and Canadian culture,” said Jeff Atkinson, President of the Honda Indy Toronto. “Partnering with an iconic Canadian brand like Tim Hortons is important to us. We are excited to be working with them.”

“Tim Hortons is proud to sponsor the 30th running of the Honda Indy Toronto,” said David Clanachan, President and COO, Tim Hortons Canada. “We are thrilled to help fuel Honda Indy fans with our always fresh coffee throughout race weekend.”
