DETROIT (AP) Australian driver Matt Mingay remains hospitalized in Detroit, and he’s now in fair condition over a week after crashing in a trucks race at Belle Isle.

Mingay has been at Detroit Receiving Hospital. The Stadium Super Truck Series, citing a hospital spokesperson, said Wednesday that Mingay was upgraded to fair condition.

He crashed June 4 and was in serious but stable condition after having surgery for facial injuries.

According to the SST release Wednesday, Mingay’s family says in addition to facial and head injuries, the driver had a small fracture of his T1 vertebrae.
