ELKHART LAKE, Wis. - Graham Rahal bounced back from early session issues in the morning practice to top the afternoon practice for this weekend’s KOHLER Grand Prix at Road America (Sunday, 12:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN).

The driver of the No. 15 Gehl/D-A Lubricant Honda for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing set the day’s fastest lap time at 1:43.0224 around the newly remeasured 4.014-mile permanent road course.

Rahal and the team had electronic issues in the morning but got back out despite losing track time.

In second was Will Power, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet, to make it two drivers in the top two who were in the last Champ Car World Series race at Road America in 2007.

Tony Kanaan and Juan Pablo Montoya - who raced last in the CART days of 2002 and 2000 respectively - were third and fourth with Road America debutante Carlos Munoz completing the top five in the session. Another Road America first-timer, Max Chilton, was sixth.

The 75-minute session ended a bit early with Jack Hawksworth stopping on course in the No. 41 ABC Supply Co. Honda on driver’s right at Turn 4, with no visible damage but likely mechanical woes.

Times are below. Third practice runs from 11 to 11:45 a.m. CT and local time on Saturday.
