ELKHART LAKE, Wis. - Tony Kanaan topped the timesheets in the final 45-minute practice before qualifying, as Chip Ganassi Racing Teams cars were in three of the top four positions ahead of the KOHLER Grand Prix.
Driving the No. 10 NTT Data Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet, Kanaan set what is currently the fastest time of the weekend around the 4.014-mile Road America road course, at 1:42.6580.
That time pipped what had been the best time of the session to date, Scott Dixon in the No. 9 Clorox Chevrolet, at 1:42.6693.
Will Power, Max Chilton and Simon Pagenaud made it an all-Chevrolet top-five, with Ryan Hunter-Reay best Honda in P6.
Carlos Munoz had an unfortunate engine issue after his first timed lap, but the Andretti Autosport team - across all four of its cars - set to work to change the engine of his No. 26 Honda.
Per a team representative, it took an hour and 22 minutes from when the car was put on stands to when it was changed and repaired.
The No. 26 heads back to the garages for some work, but will be good to go for quals this afternoon. #IndyCar https://t.co/BvLmOQnxau
