Ryan Eversley set for another Continental Tire series return

imsa_28528008

Ryan Eversley will make his return to IMSA’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge for at least the next two races, returning in the No. 93 HART Honda Civic Si in the ST class and co-driving with Chad Gilsinger.

He’ll be in the car for this upcoming weekend’s race at Watkins Glen International, the series’ first race since Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in early May, and then the following week at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Michael Valiante began the year in that car but was sidelined from Mazda Raceway following a last-lap accident at Sebring International Raceway in March. Cameron Lawrence filled in the No. 93 car at Mazda Raceway.

Eversley raced sporadic CTSC events in 2015 when they didn’t conflict with his full-time, primary commitments as an Acura factory driver with RealTime Racing. He and Gilsinger won the ST race at Road America last August, and Eversley is coming off a dream weekend with RealTime where he won both Pirelli World Challenge races at Road America in the Acura TLX-GT (more on that to come later this week).

“I’m very happy to be able to join HART for Watkins Glen and Mosport and to return to the Continental Tire series!” Eversley told NBC Sports. “The Honda Civic usually runs well at The Glen, and with Chad as a teammate I expect us to be fighting up front!”

Car chief Andrew Salzano added, “We are excited that Ryan is returning to drive the No. 93 with Chad! The upcoming tracks suit the Civic really well and hopefully we will be able to capitalize on it with this strong driver pairing. Even in our short time together last year we had good success so we have high confidence that we can stay at or near the top of the championship.”
