This week, the Austrian Grand Prix will feature Pirelli’s ultrasoft, supersoft and soft compounds on site at the Red Bull Ring but the British Grand Prix in a couple weeks will see Pirelli shift up two compounds to the soft, medium and hard compounds.
British Grand Prix tire selections are out and even though the hard compound is back, it isn’t too prevalent within the selections. Sahara Force India’s pair of Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg have gone for three sets of hards each, but no one else has opted for more than two.
Most teams have gone for six or seven sets of softs, with Ferrari (eight), Toro Rosso (eight) and Sauber (nine) going for even more sets.
