Action Express Racing took a 1-2 finish in today’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Watkins Glen International, the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, also the third round of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup season.

The No. 5 Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi beat the sister car, the No. 31 entry of Dane Cameron and Eric Curran.

The No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda of Ozz Negri, John Pew and Olivier Pla had pace throughout the weekend but not quite the luck, and ended third.

Ford followed up its 1-3 finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a 1-2 in GT Le Mans, the No. 67 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT of Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe leading teammates Joey Hand and Dirk Mueller in the sister No. 66 car.

It’s Westbrook’s third straight win at Watkins Glen, having won overall in 2014 and 2015, while Briscoe wins only two days after he became a father for the second time.

Additionally, it’s the second straight GTLM win for the No. 67 Ford.

Other class winners were the Starworks Motorsport No. 8 Oreca FLM09 (Renger van der Zande and Alex Popow) in Prototype Challenge and the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 in GT Daytona (Christina Nielsen, Alessandro Balzan, Jeff Segal).

Scuderia Corsa now adds the Watkins Glen to its class wins at Sebring (GTD) and Le Mans (GTE-Am), with Segal having been a part of all three and Nielsen and Balzan winning on North American soil.
