Lewis Hamilton saw the fight for the 2016 Formula 1 drivers’ championship take another big swing in his favor on Sunday as he scored a fourth British Grand Prix victory at Silverstone.
Hamilton dominated proceedings in front of his home fans to take a popular victory, with teammate Nico Rosberg once again finding himself in the stewards’ room after the race.
Mercedes was adjudged to have broken the new rules on radio communications during the race, leading to a 10-second penalty that dropped Rosberg from P2 on track to P3 in the final result.
At the end of a busy week, Hamilton now finds himself just a single point behind Rosberg heading to the Hungarian Grand Prix.
