Indy Lights race winner and current FIA European Formula 3 champion Felix Rosenqvist will enjoy his first IndyCar test with Chip Ganassi Racing at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Thursday.
Rosenqvist, 24, spent four years racing in F3 before winning the European title last season as well as the prestigious Macau Grand Prix for the second time.
The Swede made the switch to the American single-seater ladder for 2016, entering Indy Lights with Belardi Auto Racing.
Rosenqvist won his second Indy Lights race in St. Petersburg before doubling up in Toronto last weekend, taking victory on both Saturday and Sunday at Exhibition Place.
Now, Rosenqvist will get the chance to impress behind the wheel of a Chip Ganassi Racing IndyCar at the rookie test taking place at Mid-Ohio this week.
“This is an incredible opportunity for me,” Rosenqvist said.
“The Verizon IndyCar Series is the biggest and fastest racing series in America, and it’s every driver’s dream to be given a chance like this, and I intend to make the most of it.
“It’s especially thrilling to be doing this with Chip Ganassi Racing, a top team steeped in history that I grew up following on TV.
“Hopefully I can do a solid job and I’m sure this will be a truly unique experience.”
