Pocono Raceway threw a caution before the Verizon IndyCar Series even got to the Tricky Triangle.
Most IndyCar drivers are expected to test at the 2.5-mile tri-oval on Thursday (a full list is linked here).
However, track president Brandon Igdalsky posted a tweet Wednesday, complete with a photo, of a diesel fuel spill in Turn 1.
Igdalsky suggested that the spill was apparently caused by a NASCAR Truck Series hauler as it was leaving the track following this past weekend’s racing action.
A subsequent tweet detailed the potential impact of the diesel spill.
Later Wednesday, Igdalsky posted another tweet that said Thursday’s IndyCar test will not be impacted by the diesel incident.
In the interim, while the track was being cleared, some of the IndyCar drivers turned the pre-test day into a wiffle ball tournament.
