ELKHART LAKE, Wis. - The Corvette winners stole the headlines on Sunday between the Action Express Racing Corvette DPs going 1-2 and then the Corvette Racing factory team stealing an unexpected GT Le Mans win in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase, but they weren’t the only winners.
Other class triumphs on Sunday came via PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports (Prototype Challenge) and Riley Motorsports (GT Daytona) in the pro/am classes.
Tom Kimber-Smith and Robert Alon delivered the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca FLM09 its second win of the season, first since Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in May.
In GTD, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Ben Keating also took the No. 33 Gas Monkey Garage Dodge Viper GT3-R to their second win of the year, first since Detroit in late May.
