Marc Marquez has been cleared to take part in MotoGP qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix despite dislocating his shoulder during final practice on Saturday morning.

Marquez crashed at Turn 3 after running wide, narrowly avoiding Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa who was going slowly on the outside of the corner.

Marquez landed heavily on his right shoulder, gingerly getting up before returning to the pits where he was immediately sent to the medical centre.

A short trip to Leoben Hospital by helicopter followed, where Marquez was cleared to take part in the remainder of the weekend after further checks on his shoulder.
