Kevin Magnussen has been given the green light to race in this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix after passing an FIA medical check on Thursday morning.

Renault Formula 1 driver Magnussen suffered a high-speed crash during the Belgian Grand Prix last Sunday, leaving him with a cut and bruises on his ankle.

The Dane was transferred to hospital after the crash as a precaution and passed further tests earlier this week, but still required clearance from the FIA medical staff at Monza to take part in this weekend’s race.

Renault confirmed on Twitter that Magnussen had passed the check-up, meaning he will race as planned at Monza.
