Ganassi’s six-pack of teams, 14 cars, all in action this weekend

It’s been one heck of a year for Chip Ganassi Racing Teams, across all six of its series it competes in.

In both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, they’ve won races - and both Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray have made the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

In both sports car series with the new Ford GT, they’ve won races. Chip Ganassi Racing’s Team U.S. arm of Joey Hand, Dirk Mueller and Sebastien Bourdais captured the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GTE-Pro class as part of a 1-3-4 finish in class in the biggest sports car race in the world, and the crown jewel of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Three additional wins from Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe have followed on home soil in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

And in both the Verizon IndyCar Series and Red Bull Global Rallycross, Ganassi teams have had one win apiece. Scott Dixon took a win back in Phoenix in April, while Steve Arpin secured the first win for the CGR Rallycross program in Daytona in June.

All six Ganassi teams - and all 14 of their cars - will be in action this weekend across the United States for the first and only time this year. The team came close to it back on the weekend of April 15-17, but Red Bull GRC’s season hadn’t started yet.

Here’s the overall breakdown:

- Team of 19 Drivers in 14 Cars across Six Series in NASCAR (Sprint Cup and Xfinity), IndyCar, IMSA, WEC and GRC have won in every discipline in 2016.

- To date this season, CGRT has wins in all six series in which it competes, highlighted by a historic win in CGRT’s first trip to the Le Mans 24 Hours in June. As a result, Team Owner Chip Ganassi is the only owner in history to win the Indianapolis 500, Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, Rolex 24 At Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and Le Mans 24 Hours.

- So far in 2016 there have been wins scored (10 total) in each of the six touring series in which CGRT fields cars: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (1 - Kyle Larson), NASCAR Xfinity Series (2 - Kyle Larson and Justin Marks), Verizon IndyCar Series (2 - Scott Dixon), IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (3 - Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe), FIA World Endurance Championship (1 - Joey Hand, Dirk Müller and Sebastien Bourdais) and Red Bull Global Rallycross (1 - Steve Arpin).
